Honeymoon in Paris (2023)

15 minutes into their Paris honeymoon, the November 13, 2015 terror attacks hit the 10th arrondissement, 11th arrondissement, Le Bataclan nightclub, and Stade de France. The next day, filmmaker Ryan Gielen and actress/screenwriter Katy Wright-Mead turned their simple Canon 5D - brought on the trip to take a few pictures of the French countryside - on the citizens of Paris who were reeling from the attacks yet spilling into the streets. The filmmakers capture vigorous and open street debates by French of all stripes, as the country wrestles with how to respond, who to blame, and where to direct their fear, rage, and sadness.
